Working as a freelance artist, Martin received many commissions- carving the panels on the Speakers Chair and the NAtional Parliament Round House, and the panels in the credit house and the Mogoru Motu building in downtown Port Moresby. He has also participated in exhibitions in Rarotonga (1988), Sydney (1991), Belgium, Holland & Germany (1994), Brisbane & Townsville (1995), & New Caledonia& Indonesia (1996).
